Well in a perfect world.
My point being; it's infinitely harder; as with most things, than it initially seems.
I've found for me that I do my best thinking, when I'm not trying to. Unfortunately I'm still learning how to do that. So I'm thinking I should keep a journal with me, even just a little Moleskin or something. Because really the best ideas; for me; come when I'm on a 6 hour drive and start critiquing billboards or am sitting around bullshitting with my friends over some grease-tastic food.
I've realized I now automatically take apart every commercial or print ad I see, I start dissecting what they were trying to communicate, what the message is and what way they approached it. In the grocery store I will be looking for something and suddenly I realize I've stopped looking at the actual food's property and evaluating the label. I've actually put things in my cart that I don't even want, I just really like the label.
So with this said I endeavor to be more conscious of things that inspire me and to track them.
Cheers.
